Types of opportunities

Current

Provide groceries for a cooking lesson – Residents submit cooking lesson requests, and volunteers help fine-tune the recipe, make the grocery list, and purchase the ingredients. Meals need to serve four people.

Deliver a meal or a treat – Deliver a “heat and eat” meal or a treat for four. Dietary restriction(s): No Pork

Purchase supplies for a gift basket – We give gift baskets to people when they enter or exit our program.

• Welcome Basket: a laundry basket, laundry pods, and dryer sheets; two sets of bath towels; and gift cards to a grocery store, Target, or Walmart.

• Launch Basket: cleaning supplies, paper products, laundry supplies, and gift cards to a grocery store, Target, or Walmart.

Spread holiday cheer – Help us find the perfect gift or supplies to us celebrate special days and events.

Future

Be a Super Shopper – We’ll email you a link to our Amazon wish list when we have specific supply needs for the house or residents. Purchase the supplies on Amazon. Items can be shipped directly to Onward House.

Help with seasonal yard work and house projects – We’ll let you know when we have seasonal projects like window washing or garden clean-up. Join us as an individual volunteer or let us know if you have a group that would like to work together.

Organize a supply drive – If you are part of a group or company that wants to organize a needs drive for Onward House, let us know. We’ll work with you to make it happen.

Serve on a committee or the board – If you’re interested in serving on a volunteer committee or our board, let us know. We’d love to share more about these opportunities.
