We are responding to a need in our community.

Couch-surfing is another name for homelessness.

There are young adults in our community who don’t have a safe place to sleep at night. They are couch-surfing, living in cars and staying in unsafe places. They are trying to hide their homelessness. But we see them. And we are responding by creating safe, affordable, transitional, supportive housing in the southwest suburbs. No one else is doing this for this segment of the market — single adults age18 - 24 who do not have children.

It’s not just housing. It’s home.

We opened Onward House in Eden Prairie in November 2018. It offers each resident comfortable community space, a private bedroom and the support they need to move forward with their lives — like finding and maintaining a job they like, completing or enrolling in school, keeping their living space clean, managing a budget and nurturing relationships.

This is only possible because of our many donors and volunteers who share our values, believe in our mission and are motivated by our vision. Together, we are making a difference.
